Acrylic/Mixed Media
Founder and Senior Design Consultant for Illustrated Designs, Ed Piechocki knew earlyon that design and illustration was his passion. Four years at Bucks County Technical School gave him a solid basis in design skills, which he fine-tuned at the Hussian School of Art (where he would eventually go on to teach).
Ed started as an illustrator for children’s books in 1968. He went back and forth between Philadelphia and New York City, showing his portfolio to anyone who would let him in the door. While “pounding the streets” wasn’t easy, it allowed Ed to work at home and spend time with his family. His dedication landed him work with major companies like Sun Oil, Westminster Press, and ACME Manufacturing, and eventually he managed their entire marketing programs, including graphic design for corporate identity, collateral and promotional materials, packaging, and trade show decor.
Ed loves every aspect of the design industry, but the most exciting thing for him is to see idea sketches come to life in full scale while designing and building themed trade shows.
Since retiring he has gotten back into painting and spends all of his free time, experimenting in acrylics and mixed media and now has joined the Art & Frame Gallery in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Ed is proud that his daughter is now at the helm of Illustrated Designs, based just outside of Philadelphia.
